It’s hard to find one adjective to describe North Carolina basketball, even as we’re twelve games into the 2024-25 season. The Tar Heels (7-5) have mounted near-impossible comebacks time and time again, with the latest edition coming Saturday in the CBS Sports Classic against UCLA. They survived the Bruins, 76-74.
These rallies haven’t always been fruitful, as double-digit deficits to Kansas, Auburn, Michigan State, Alabama, and Florida were too much to overcome for UNC. Dayton and UCLA — North Carolina’s two Quad 1 victories — went in the Tar Heels favor after a similar late gasp. And thus far, that’s been the story for Hubert Davis and his squad.
