The recruitment of 4-star power forward Lance Ware has officially become a blue blood affair. According to Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten, the top-50 prospect from the class of 2020 was offered a scholarship by John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday.
A 6-foot-9, 215-pound senior at Camden High School in Burlington, New Jersey, Ware already had offers from a number of big-name schools including Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Providence and Virginia Tech.
The offer from Kentucky really makes things interesting, though, as the Wildcats are obviously one of college basketball’s best programs, and among the sports’ top two or three toughest competitors on the recruiting trail.
