Justin Jackson seems to have made the right decision in returning for his junior season at North Carolina. Jackson was named ACC Player of the Year this afternoon, becoming the 14th Tar Heel to do so (15th overall, Larry Brown won the award twice). With Jackson winning, UNC tied Duke with the most such awards in ACC history.
It was announced that Jackson had garnered 24 votes for the award, well ahead of John Collins of Wake Forest, who had 15. Three other players also received votes. Many believed that the final game against Duke would be the deciding factor in the voting, but Duke’s Luke Kennard got only five votes.
