With multiple players being sidelined due to injury this season — including starting point guard and preseason All-American Cole Anthony — Roy Williams and the North Carolina Tar Heels have been forced to get creative with their starting lineup and rotation.
Their latest move was putting freshman point guard Jeremiah Francis in the starting lineup, a place he hadn’t been in his first five games with the team this season.
In his first two games of the year, he played just 19 combined minutes, and made minor contributions. In 23 minutes off the bench against Gonzaga, though, Francis scored 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
