Former University of North Carolina national champion Jawad Williams has just won another championship in his basketball career. Williams’ latest title comes overseas as a member of the Tokyo Alvark in the Japanese B League.
The Alvark defeated the Chiba Jets Funabashi on Saturday at Yokohama Arena to claim the league title. Williams scored 10 points in the win, helping contribute as Alvark cruised past the Jets 85-60.
It’s the fifth overall championship for Williams in his basketball career, with four of them coming overseas.
After playing a key role in helping lead the Tar Heels to a win over the University of Illinois in the 2005 National Championship, Williams took his chances in the NBA.
