Cameron Johnson scored a game-high 21 points and North Carolina beat UNC Wilmington 97-69 on Wednesday night at the Dean Smith Center.
Johnson knocked down 7-of-14 shots from the floor and 3-of-8 from three-point range. He also connected on all four of his free throw attempts and hauled in five rebounds for the 7-2 Tar Heels.
Four Tar Heels scored in double-figures to help North Carolina recover from a sluggish first half that saw them down 25-24 with just over seven minutes remaining before the intermission. Freshman wing Nassir Little scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting for the Tar Heels, while Luke Maye and Kenny Williams each added 11.
