Cole Anthony introduced himself to college basketball in North Carolina’s season-opening win vs. Notre Dame on Wednesday night, scoring a new freshman record 34 points and recording a double-double.
Just a few days later, Anthony helped lead UNC to a 2-0 start with a road win at UNCW. While many couldn’t see the game due to it only being broadcasted on FloHoops, Anthony and Justin Pierce paced the Tar Heels to a victory. Both recorded a double-double in the game and for the freshman, he achieved something that hasn’t been done in over 15 years.
By recording a double-double in two-straight games, Anthony became the first UNC freshman to do so since Sean May in 2002:
