Former North Carolina standout and current Chicago Bulls point guard Coby White scored a game-high 26 points on Friday night, but his team lost 108-102 to the Indiana Pacers, their 12th defeat over the last 14 games.
Their misfortunes on the basketball court over that time period have had little to do with White, though, as the first-year player from Goldsboro, North Carolina has put together his best stretch of the season over the past month-plus. Over his last eight games, in particular, he’s been arguably the best rookie in the league. And although the Bulls have won just two of those seven games, White has notched point totals of 33, 33, 35, 22, 19, 26 and 26.
