North Carolina freshman point guard Coby White has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Freshman of the Week. He shares the weekly honor with Duke freshman forward R.J. Barrett. It was the second such award for White this season, and the third for Barrett.
White played just one game last week, but he put on one heck of an impressive performance in his only opportunity. The sensational freshman recorded 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals for North Carolina, leading the Tar Heels to a 103-82 victory over then-No. 10 Virginia Tech.
He knocked down 9-of-16 shots from the floor, 5-of-11 from three-point range and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
