UNC Basketball: City of Oxford honors former Tar Heel Isaiah Hicks

If you’re from the city of Oxford, North Carolina, and you make it to the NBA, you’re kind of a big deal. And that’s exactly what Isaiah Hicks is in his home town of less than 10,000 people.

That’s where the New York Knicks power forward was born and raised, and spent four years at J.F. Webb High School before becoming a five-star basketball prospect and McDonald’s All-American. And it’s less than one hour away from the University of North Carolina campus in Chapel Hill where he spent another four years adding to his legacy, one that includes more than 100 wins in a Tar Heels uniform and a 2017 national championship.
