A couple of weeks ago, Reggie Bullock signed a two-year, $21 million free agent deal with the New York Knicks. The deal was reneged on by the Knicks shortly after, and it wasn’t completely clear at the time what the reason was.
We now know that Bullock’s physical was red-flagged for cervical disc herniation, which he underwent surgery for last week. Bullock’s prior deal — which included a team option for the second year — turned into a $4.8 million room exception, essentially cutting his wages in half for the upcoming season. Bullock was gracious throughout the situation, though, thanking the team for sticking with him throughout the ordeal.
