Former University of North Carolina standout Isaiah Hicks has taken the next step in his basketball career, signing a contract to play for Avtodor Saratov, a Russian professional basketball club.
Founded in 1960 and based in Saratov, Russia, Avtodor Saratov is a member of the 14-team VTB United League that features clubs from Russia, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Poland.
Hicks most recently spent two seasons on a two-way contract in New York, splitting time between the Knicks and their G-League affiliate in Westchester. He averaged 16 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 64 G-League games — 63 of which he started.
