A little less than two weeks ago, I wrote about how UNC basketball was on it’s longest winning streak of the season; with their next three contests all being winnable games in the state of North Carolina and the Heels improving on defense, it seemed like the Heels had a real shot at creating some space for themselves near the top of the ACC rankings.
Three games later, Carolina has two one-point losses and a narrow overtime home win over a team that probably won’t even make the ACC tournament. A combination of old problems rearing their head again (they were outrebounded in the two losses) and new issues (the defense has regressed since the Cal game) have the Heels in a precarious position as they enter the hardest part of their ACC schedule.
