The University of North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team is getting a key player back for the 2018 season.
Infielder Zack Gahagan was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 39th round of the 2017 MLB Draft last week but has decided to return to UNC for his senior season.
Gahagan was a key piece in the middle of UNC’s lineup during the 2017 season. He helped the Tar Heels earned the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA baseball tournament.
But unfortunately for Gahagan and the Tar Heels, their season ended early with a loss to Davidson in the Chapel Hill regional.
