Former UNC Baseball pitcher Will Sandy had his contract purchased by the Los Angeles Angels on Friday afternoon and will join the team’s farm system.
After spending five years in Chapel Hill as a pitcher for the UNC baseball program, Will Sandy was spending the summer in West Virginia with the West Virginia Black Bears, a collegiate summer league baseball team in the MLB Draft League.
After five appearances with the Black Bears, earning the start in all five, Sandy successfully recorded three wins across 25.2 innings pitched while having an earned runs average (ERA) of 2.
