The North Carolina Tar Heels beat the Virginia Cavaliers in thrilling fashion on Wednesday night, winning their first game of the 2019 ACC Tournament by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings.
North Carolina got on the board in the fourth inning thanks to an Ike Freeman single into right field that scored ACC Freshman of the Year Aaron Sabato from second base. Cavaliers right fielder Cayman Richardson missed the ball as he tried to field it and allowed Freeman to get to third on the two-base error. The Tar Heels couldn’t capitalize on the Cavaliers’ mishap, though, stranding Freeman at third base.
