Just a day after the North Carolina bullpen struggled mightily against Auburn, giving up nine runs and a bunch of hits — ultimately relinquishing the UNC lead, and the game — the Tar Heels’ pitching staff threw an absolute gem in Sunday’s Game 2.
After Michael Busch led off the first inning with a ground ball single through the right side of the infield, ACC Freshman of the Year Aaron Sabato took first base on a four-pitch walk. A controversial balk call moved Busch to third and Sabato to second, setting up a 2-RBI single off the bat of Ike Freeman.
