North Carolina Tar Heels first baseman Aaron Sabato was named ACC Freshman of the Year last week. He one-upped that honor on Thursday when he was named first team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, the site announced on Thursday.
Sabato was one of 17 Division I players selected to the first team, and he was named the squad’s designated hitter. He’s one of two ACC players on the team along with Wake Forest first baseman Bobby Seymour. New Mexico State led the team with three players, and East Carolina had two.
Sabato is having one of the best seasons of any freshman player in the country, as well as one of the most memorable in North Carolina baseball history.
