The ACC is as strong in baseball as it’s been in a while, and the Diamond Heels of UNC are at the top of it. They earned the #1 seed in the conference tournament that begins today with the ACC’s best regular season record, helped by never getting swept in a series while collecting several impressive wins and maintaining a near-perfect home record. When you have that kind of season, it’s usually borne out when it’s time to give out awards — and that’s exactly what happened with the Tar Heels, as UNC players occupied a league-best 11 spots in the All-ACC First, Second, Third, and Freshman teams.
