Last week, I talked about how last weekend’s series against Notre Dame was a critical one for the Diamond Heels to be able to come home and reset their momentum after a long stretch of play away from Boshamer Stadium against a host of very good teams. Happily, Scott Forbes and #11 UNC did just that, sweeping the Fighting Irish and never even really being threatened. Some sleeping bats woke up, most notably that of Vance Honeycutt, and both starting and relief pitching looked pretty much untouchable, holding Notre Dame to just 5 runs over the three games combined.
