UNC Baseball: Former Liberty Coach brings over recruit and transfer to Tar Heels

Former North Carolina baseball assistant and eight-year Liberty University head coach Scott Jackson announced on July 11th his resignation from the Flames program with rumored intent to return to Chapel Hill. Those rumblings were true, and the Tar Heels have gained two incoming position players because of the recent coaching switch.

The Diamond Heels, fresh off an Omaha run, just saw their entire outfield (and more) be selected in the MLB Draft. This exciting development leaves head coach Scott Forbes searching for talent to replace what was one of the best defensive units in the country.

It had been a rather quiet portal season for North Carolina early, but their first large splash came on Wednesday when Kane Kepley, former Liberty Flame, announced his commitment to Coach Forbes and the Tar Heels.
