Between the Friday game of last weekend’s ECU series being rescheduled to Monday, and last week’s game against North Carolina A&T having been pushed to this Wednesday, the fifth-ranked Diamond Heels were going to have an unenviable stretch on their hands: Starting on Saturday the 22nd, they would play five games in five days, and eight games in nine. If any team is built to get through such a stretch, though, it’s this one, with its enviable pitching depth. And indeed, after that first five-game stretch, Scott Forbes’ team remains undefeated after comfortably winning both of their midweek matchups.
