It’s been an amazing season for UNC Baseball. Despite losing multiple starters, any of whom could have been players that lead off a weekend series on Thursday or a Friday, the Diamond Heels basically cruised to the ACC Regular Season Championship and never were swept in any series. By all accounts, it’s something that this team should be immensely proud of.
But now we are in the postseason.
The approach of Memorial Day Weekend means that the ACC Baseball Championship has arrived. That’s right, it’s the Championship, not Tournament. The ACC decided years ago that baseball just doesn’t work for a full Tournament format, and with a league that is so large they wanted to strike the right balance between determining a true champion while making sure every team gets the opportunity to play and help their NCAA resume.
