The University of North Carolina lost a legend back on March 7, 2018 when broadcaster Woody Durham passed away at the age of 76 in his home. Durham served as the voice of the Tar Heels for 40 years calling games for the basketball and football programs.
UNC paid homage to Durham’s legendary career with a special ceremony at the school for the North Carolina native.
The celebration was attended by hundreds at Carmichael Arena including several former UNC players who Durham had called games for. Fans of the Tar Heels also donned their UNC gear as they paid respects to a man who became the voice of their sports rooting interests.
