It’s funny that the Mack Brown elephant in the room exploded right before Duke week, considering that a huge link to the end of Brown’s tenure at Texas is going to be on the opposite sideline.
Manny Diaz has had an interesting career, where he’s once again attempting to resurrect his image after getting drummed out of Miami a couple of seasons ago. Diaz and Brown first crossed paths in 2011, when Brown hired Diaz to be the Defensive Coordinator at Texas. His appointment there was notable in that he followed Will Muschamp—aka Mack Brown’s “Head Coach in Waiting”—after Muschamp took the head coach job at Florida in 2010.
