2009 Bob Cousy Award winner and ACC Player of the Year Ty Lawson is returning to the Chinese Basketball Association where he will again play for the Shandong Golden Stars.
Emiliano Carchia of Sportando reports that Lawson will replace former NBA guard and College of Charleston star Andrew Goudelock, who is out for the season with a knee injury. Lawson last played with the Golden Stars during the 2017-18 season before signing with the Washington Wizards for their short playoff run that ended in the first round at the hands of the Toronto Raptors.
Although he played well for the Wizards during that stretch, he was unable to parlay his performance into a roster spot for the 2018-19 season.
