Atlanta Hawks small forward Vince Carter has been in the NBA since before his rookie teammate, Trae Young, was born. And on Sunday afternoon, Carter outscored the promising young guard by six points on the same amount of shot attempts and in three fewer minutes.
In 28 minutes on the road against the Detroit Pistons, Carter scored a game-high 18 points off the Atlanta bench. It’s the most court time that the eight-time All-Star has seen all year, and the greatest point total he’s achieved since joining the Hawks in his 21st professional season.
Carter knocked down 7-of-14 shots from the floor, including 3-of-9 from three-point range.
