Former North Carolina standout and 6-year NBA veteran Tyler Zeller is back in the NBA on a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks. News of the deal, which was completed on Friday, was first reported by ESPN on Thursday.
The Hawks are in need of front court help after starting center Dewayne Dedmon sustained a right knee contusion this week, and two-way player Alex Poythress is suffering from a right ankle sprain. Prior to that, reserve forward Omari Spellman went down with a left ankle sprain and remains out of the lineup, while yet another Atlanta big man, Miles Plumlee, is out due to pain in his left knee.
