The Detroit Pistons agreed to terms on a deal late Tuesday night that sent veteran shooting guard Reggie Bullock to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Svi Mykhailiuk and a 2021 second round pick. The Athletic’s Frank Isola was first to break news of the trade.
Although the deal makes perfect sense for the Lakers, it’s a bit of an enigma when it comes to the Pistons and their short-term plans of competing for a playoff spot.
Detroit is currently just a game and a half back of the Miami Heat for eighth-place in the Eastern Conference.
