Charlotte Hornets power forward Marvin Williams turned back the clock on Friday night, scoring a season-high 30 points en route to a 112-111 victory over the Washington Wizards.
On a night that he looked every bit the player he was when he got drafted back in 2005, Williams hit 10-of-16 shots from the floor and 7-of-10 from behind the three-point line. His seven three-pointers tied a career-high that he set earlier this season against Detroit. He also recorded seven rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist in 32 minutes of play against the Wizards.
Maybe more impressive than any of that was the one-handed putback slam on Friday night that made him look like the kid wearing Carolina blue nearly 15 years ago.
