The Los Angeles Lakers waived a pair of players on Monday, including former North Carolina point guard Joel Berry II. Along with Berry, the Lakers said goodbye to Jeffrey Carrol, a former shooting guard for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Both players were waived in an effort to get the team’s roster down to where it needs to be when the Lakers open up regular season play against the Trailblazers on October 18th. The announcement was made in a press release on Monday afternoon, and the roster currently sits at 17.
Neither player made a big impact on the team during preseason play, receiving limited minutes in supporting roles.
