Coby White must love Las Vegas, because he put on another show for the Tar Heels in their come-from-behind victory over 17th ranked UCLA on Friday. The freshman point guard led the Heels with 19 points with another three shots from distance. White dished out a (early) career-high eight assists in the game as well.
The first half of the game was eerily reminiscent of Carolina’s loss to Texas on Thanksgiving night. UNC couldn’t really buy a bucket for stretches, and they couldn’t find the answer defensively for Kris Wilkes of the Bruins. Roy Williams kept his team in the locker room nearly until the buzzer before the second half for the third night in a row, and this paint-peeling talk might have finally been effective, because the Tar Heels came out looking like a different team after halftime.
