The UNC men’s tennis team continued a successful run at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Sunday at Cary Tennis Park, with two doubles teams reaching the quarterfinals. Junior Robert Kelly and freshman Josh Peck advanced, as did senior Chad Hoskins and sophomore Arturo Schmidt. Competition resumes at 10 a.m. on Monday.
A trio of Tar Heels reached the singles quarterfinals Sunday, giving UNC more players still standing in that round than any other school, but all were eliminated.
In doubles, Hoskins and Schmidt reached the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Wofford’s Julian Chousa and Haris Poric.
