CHAPEL HILL – The University of North Carolina track and field teams will compete in the Tobacco Road Multis starting on Thursday. The two-day meet will wrap up on Friday.
The meet is unique in that it gives pentathletes and heptathletes an opportunity to compete in a full pentathlon and heptathlon before the conference championship. Most multi athletes only have one chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships with just the conference meet, but a good showing at the Tobacco Road Multis could get qualifying scores for the NCAA Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
The Tobacco Road Multis will feature several North Carolina student-athletes including Paul Haley who won the ACC Championship in the heptathlon in 2015.
