CHAPEL HILL— Top-seeded North Carolina got goals from 14 different players and dominated Virginia, 24-2, in the women's lacrosse NCAA Tournament second round on Sunday afternoon at Dorrance Field.
The 24 goals are a school record for most in an NCAA Tournament game and tie the overall program record for any game. The 22-goal margin of victory also ties the overall UNC program record, set versus Longwood in 2007.
Jamie Ortega had four goals and two assists for Carolina, with Caitlyn Wurzburger contributing a goal and a career-high six assists.
