GREENSBORO, N.C. - Three school-record performances highlight North Carolina's effort on Friday at the ACC Men's Swimming Championship.
Senior Valdas Abaliksta finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, and in the process lowered his own school record with a time of 51.74.
Tomas Sungalia began the day sharing the 200-yard freestyle record with Jorden Merrilees. He left the Greensboro Aquatic Center as Carolina's record holder with a time of 1:34.00 that saw the Lithuanian win the B final race and earn a ninth-place finish for his squad.
The Tar Heels closed the evening by setting a third school standard in the 400-yard medley relay.
