GREENSBORO, N.C. - After the season-opening comeback victory over South Carolina, the North Carolina football team had three players named an ACC Player of the Week on Tuesday. Quarterback Sam Howell was selected rookie of the week, senior left tackle Charlie Heck the offensive lineman of the week and junior safety Myles Wolfolk as the defensive back of the week.
Howell became the first true freshman quarterback to ever start the season-opening game for the Tar Heels. The Monroe, N.C., product completed 15-of-24 passes for 245 yards and two TDs.
