CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Mex Riemer walked off game one of UNC's Fall World Series with a two-out, three-run homer to right field that gave Team Sandy a 9-8 win over Team Pry in the best-of-three series Tuesday afternoon.
With the victory, Team Sandy leads the series 1-0.
Reece Holbrook led off the inning with a single through the right side that plated Carter French, who started the inning at second base. Austin Hawke then reached on fielder's choice that retired Holbrook but allowed Hunter Stokely to move over to third before pitcher Nik Pry struck out Vance Honeycutt to set the stage for Riemer.
