♦ North Carolina (33-6) and Villanova (34-5) will meet on Monday night in Houston for the 2016 NCAA championship. The Tar Heels and Wildcats will take the opening tip at 9:19 p.m. Eastern Time (8:19 p.m. in Houston) at NRG Stadium.
♦ UNC pulled away from Syracuse, 83-66, in Saturday’s semifinal. Villanova beat Oklahoma, 95-51, in Saturday’s first matchup.
♦ Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Bill Raftery (analyst), Grant Hill (analyst) and Tracy Wolfson (reporter) will call the game for a TBS national TV audience (and on the March Madness Live app).
♦ TNT will televise the UNC-focused Team Stream broadcast with Wes Durham (play-by-play), former Tar Heel Brendan Haywood (analyst) and Dwayne Ballen (reporter) on the call.
