LYNCHBURG, Va. – Senior Lauren Moyer and sophomore Malin Evert scored two goals each as the fourth-ranked North Carolina field hockey team won 5-1 at Liberty on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Ashley Hoffman also had a goal as the Tar Heels improved to 13-4 on the season. The host Flames fell to 6-8.
UNC took the lead in the fifth minute of play on Moyer’s first goal of the day. Freshman Eef Andriessen fed her from the right baseline to put UNC up 1-0. Just over three minutes later, Moyer scored again, this time on a penalty corner shot, assisted by junior Gab Major and senior Julia Young.
