Following a four-game field hockey series between the national teams from the U.S. and Japan, some younger members of the U.S. National Team pool and members of the U.S. Under-21 team joined forces to face off Friday morning against Japan in a “friendly” at the Spooky Nook Sports complex in Lancaster, Pa.
Tar Heels playing were Casey Di Nardo, Lauren Moyer, Loren Shealy and Emily Wold. Shealy is a 2015 graduate who is now training with the National Team and played in the U.S.-Japan series during the week, earning her first international cap.
Di Nardo and Wold were seniors on the 2015 UNC team and are part of the National Team pool.
