CHAPEL HILL - Sara Daavetilla won the singles title, while Makenna Jones and Cameron Morra took home the doubles championship to represent the North Carolina women's tennis team at the ITA Carolinas Regional on Monday afternoon on its home court at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
Fifth seed and 27th ranked Daavettila won the singles title in straight sets over No. 20 Ingrid Gamarra Martins of South Carolina, 6-4, 6-2. The Williamston, Michigan, native won five of her six matches in straight sets to earn the regional title for the second time in the last three seasons.
