The North Carolina Tar Heels are sixth in the penultimate LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics announced on Thursday.
Carolina has amassed 1023.25 points with only baseball remaining to factor in the final point totals for the multi-sport competition which gives points for NCAA post-season finishes. The Tar Heels tied for ninth nationally in baseball after advancing to the Super Regionals, which should add another 64 points to UNC's total.
The College World Series begins Friday, June 17, and runs through either June 26 or 27. Final Directors' Cup standings will be released the following week.
