PHILADELPHIA, PA.—Top-seeded North Carolina (30-6) will face fifth-seeded Indiana (27-7) in an NCAA Tournament East Regional semifinal on Friday night in Philadelphia. The Tar Heels and Hoosiers will take the opening tip at 10 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center. Notre Dame will meet Wisconsin at 7:27 p.m., followed by UNC-IU.
♦ The Tar Heels are making their record 33rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament round of 16 and their record 27th official Sweet 16 appearance (since 1975).
♦ UNC beat No. 16 seed Florida Gulf Coast and No. 9 seed Providence last weekend in Raleigh to advance to Philadelphia.
