CHAPEL HILL - The North Carolina Tar Heels (2-0) are atop the United Soccer Coaches first fall rankings, the organization announced today.
The Tar Heels remain unbeaten after handing Wake Forest a 4-1 loss in the season-opener and beating Virginia Tech 1-0 on Sunday (Sept. 20).
Due to the impact of the pandemic on fall schedules, only teams competing in the fall were considered for the polls. The number of teams appearing in each ranking is also lower due to the lower number of teams competing.
North Carolina is one of six ACC programs, the most of any conference.
