CHAPEL HILL –– The University of North Carolina is ranked No. 11 in this week's Associated Press poll, making the Tar Heels the first men's basketball program to be ranked in 900 Associated Press polls.
UNC fell four spots to No. 11 after going 2-1 last week with wins over Saint Francis and UCLA and a 92-89 loss to Texas. Carolina was ranked No. 8, 7 and 7 in the first three weeks this season.
Today's poll marks the 84th consecutive week the Tar Heels are ranked in the AP top 25. UNC has been ranked in the AP poll at least one time in 62 of 71 seasons of the AP poll.
