The North Carolina rowing team opened competition at the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships on Friday on Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C. Following the evening’s preliminaries, the teams return to the water Saturday morning for finals. Times have been moved up based on a forecast of high winds, so competition on Saturday will begin at 8:05 a.m.
On Friday, the teams raced under sunny skies with light winds. UNC placed fifth in its varsity eight heat and fourth in the second varsity eight, third varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four.
Saturday’s racing will be streamed live on ESPN3.
