CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina opened the 2020-21 women's basketball season and welcomed its freshmen to college play Wednesday with an emphatic win over visiting Radford, 90-61 at Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels improved to 1-0 heading into two more games this week, at home on Saturday and Sunday.
In her Tar Heel debut, guard Deja Kelly led all scorers with 19 points. She was one of six UNC players – and one of four freshmen – in double figures. Graduate student Petra Holešínská scored 14 points in her first Carolina game, hitting four of her eight three-point attempts.
