PRINCETON, N.J. – The UNC rowing team raced at the Princeton Chase on Sunday, opening fall competition against the most competitive field the Tar Heels will see all year.
In the women’s varsity 8+ field of 59 crews, Carolina’s first varsity eight was 43rd in 16:07.308 and the second varsity eight was just behind in 47th at 16:14.840.
“I thought the 2V had a great race and did what we asked them to do,” UNC coach Sarah Haney said. “They got bumped a few times and clashed oars a few times but that didn't deter them from being focused, determined and reaching their goals.
