Tar Heels Jump To No. 7 In Both Polls

CHAPEL HILL—North Carolina jumped several spots in both major national weekly polls this week and are back in the top 10 of each. In rankings released on Monday afternoon, the Tar Heels moved from No. 11 to No. 7 in the Associated Press Poll and from No. 10 to No. 7 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Carolina has been ranked in 883 AP polls, most in college basketball history. That includes 664 weeks in the top 10, second-most in history behind Kentucky. The 2017-18 campaign marks the 55th season (out of 70) the Tar Heels have been ranked in the top 10 by the AP.
